Puran poli, coconut laddoos, modak, moong dal halwa are some of the famous sweets made in Maharashtra. Modak is the traditional sweet prepared and made as an offering to Lord Ganesha on the occasion od Ganesh Chaturthi, the famous festival gloriously celebrated. Bread jamun, coconut burfi and shrikhand are few other sweets famous in the region.
