Aloo gobi masala subzi recipe:

India is rich in Flora and Fauna. So is Indian cuisine. There are many recipes all over India which are easy to prepare and delicious in taste. One such simple recipe is Aloo Gobi Ki Sabzi recipe. Potato is also called Aloo in Hindi and Cauliflower is called Gobi. It is a North Indian recipe originating from the state of Punjab. This recipe is also popular all over India. Also, this recipe is called by many names like Dhaba style Aloo gobi, Potato and Cauliflower Masala Sabzi, Potato Cauliflower Masala Curry, phool gobi sabzi, Aloo Gobi Ki Sabzi, etc. This recipe when prepared with South Indian twist it is called Cauliflower and Potato Curry South Indian Style.

Phool gobi sabzi as said earlier is easy to prepare. It takes around 30 to 40 minutes to prepare this recipe. The recipe also serves as Side Dish or Main Course for Lunch or Dinner. We can enjoy Dry Aloo Gobi Masala with Rice, Phulkas, Roti, Naan or Parathas. Also, we prepare Aloo gobi masala during festivals or special occasions.

Therefore, the main ingredients for Aloo Gobi Masala recipe are Potato and Cauliflower. While, Potato and Cauliflower are both good for health. The other ingredients used in Potato and Cauliflower Masala Sabzi is Coriander powder, ginger garlic paste, Red Chilli Powder, Pepper powder and Cumin Seed Powder. Hence, these ingredients make this recipe more palatable and healthy.

Potato Cauliflower Masala Curry is famous among both kids and adults. Consequently,the other recipes which are prepared with Cauliflower are gobi masala, tandoori gobi, gobi Manchurian, gobi 65 recipe, gobi paratha, gobi dry recipe, simple cauliflower curry, cauliflower pakoda, etc.

Ingredients

  • Cauliflower - 1 Cup
  • Potato - 1/2 Cup
  • Chopped Onion - 1/2 Cup
  • Chopped Tomatoes - 1/2 Cup
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp
  • Cloves - 3 nos.
  • Cardamom Sticks - 2 nos.
  • Curry Leaves - 1 Sprig
  • Salt as for taste
  • Oil - 2 -3 Tbsp
  • Red Chili Powder - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Pepper Powder - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Cumin Seed Powder - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch
  • Fennel Seeds - 1/4 Tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tbsp

Method

Step 1

Boil the chopped cauliflower along with pinch of turmeric powder and salt. Boil for sometime in a high flame. Keep half boiled vegetable aside.

Preheat a pan with 2 spoon of oil, when the oil is get heated, then add cloves, cardamom sticks and fennel seeds fry it in a low flame.

Add chopped onions and curry leaves in it. Fry onion well till it changes into translucent.

When the onion changes to be golden brown color, add ginger garlic paste to the fried onion and saute well till the raw smell goes out.

Add the chopped tomato, a pinch of salt and cook till tomatoes becomes softy.

Add cubed potatoes, saute well for few minutes till it gets semi cook.

Now add spices powder such as red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and pepper powder.

Drain the excess water from the boiled cauliflower. Add cauliflower and salt to the masala and mix well.

Mix all the masala together and close the pan for 5 minutes till the water contents in the vegetable becomes dry state and switch off the pan. Then serve the aloo gobi dish with chapati,roti,dosa and rice so on.
