Badam Barfi/Almond Burfi/ Badam Katli recipe:
Indian cuisine is vast. There are all types of recipes available in Indian cuisine. Among all types of recipes sweets hold an important place in everyone’s heart. One such famous sweet recipe is Badam burfi. This is a North Indian sweet recipe famous all over India. Badam Barfi is also known as Badam Katli recipe or Almond Burfi recipe. Badam Burfi is loved by both Kids and Adults.
Cooking Badam burfi requires moderate level cooking skills. This recipe is takes around 20 minutes of preparing time and 10 minutes of cooking time. In total it takes around 30 minutes of time to prepare this recipe. Badam burfi is mainly served as dessert. Badam Barfi is generally prepared during eve of indian festivals like Diwali, Dussehra, etc. It is prepared using milk. We can also prepare Badam Barfi without milk and using Milk powder. Badam Barfi can be with Khoya also.
The main ingredients of Badam burfi recipe are Milk and Almond. Milk is absolutely rich source of Calcium and Vitamins. Almond is also rich in diatary fiber. The other ingredients used in this recipe are Ghee and sugar. Ghee and Sugar enhances the taste and are good for health. You can make vegan style no ghee no milk almond burfi, it tast different.
Badam Barfi recipe is full of nutrition if taken in limited amounts. We can prepare it at home or we can buy from sweet shops. The other Badam related recipes are Badam Halwa, Badam Ladoo, Badam Kheer, etc.
- Almond (badam) - 1 Cup
- Sugar powder - 1 1/4 Cup
- Ghee as required
- Milk - 1/4 Cup
- Water as required
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 tbsp
First of all take a pan and add 3 cups of water and make it boil in a medium flame. When the water is boiled, add 1 cup of Almond and cook for 15 minutes .
Add the boiled almonds to bowl of fresh water and make it cool for 5 minutes .
After that remove the outer layer of the almond as shown in the below image .
After removing the outer layer, add this almonds in a cool water as shown in the image. And keep this for few minutes.
Now add the almonds in the mixer or blender and grind this as a fine paste. And add 1/4 cup of milk and grind this well .
Now take a pan and make it heat in a medium flame. Add 2 tbsp of Ghee .
After heating the ghee add the grinded almond paste and stir for 2 minutes. After that add cups of sugar powder, cardamom powder and mix well till the mixture leaving from pan. If you want more flavour add ghee.
Pour the mixture to the butter paper and knead for some time.
After spreading the mixture on the butter paper, make it cool for 15 minutes. And cut the sweet in desired shape.
Now, the Badam Barfi/Almond Burfi/ Badam Katli recipe is ready to serve.
