This preparation is also called by many names in India like chapathi roll, Roll with leftover veg, Egg Frankie, Vegetable Egg Wraps, Homemade egg roll, etc. This recipe is also very delicious and is an instant hit among kids.

This preparation is quite easy cook. It takes around 30 minutes of time to prepare. This recipe in true sense can serve all purposes. It can be served as Breakfast or Tiffins. Also, it can be taken in Main Course during lunch or dinner. It easily serves the purpose of snacks. It can even make a delicious starter. This is a wonderful recipe which will love by adults and kids.

Main Ingredient of Egg Roll is egg. Egg is a highly nutritious food in itself. They are good source of protein. Egg contains Vitamin B, Zinc, Iron, Copper and so on. The nutritional value of egg makes Egg Roll a healthy food. The other ingredients like Vegetables or Veg Manchurian make this recipe even more palatable and healthy. Ginger Paste, Cumin Paste and Green Chilli Paste enhance the flavour of this recipe. This quick bite recipe is healthy and tasty to eat, killing two birds with one stone.

Egg Rolls are generally prepared at home but it can be bought from market. This recipe is so famous in West Bengal that one may find fast food joints specifically dedicated to prepare Egg Rolls. Egg Rolls bring friends and family together.

Ingredients

  • Maida - 1 cup
  • Medium size onion - 1 No
  • Veg Manchurian - 1 Cup
  • Egg - 1 No
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil - 3 Tbsp

Method

Step 1

Take a 1 cup of maida and pinch of salt. Mix well and knead into soft dough with some water. Thinly slice the onion. Here i use leftover vegetable manchurian for stuffing.

Take a portion of dough, Roll the soft dough into normal roati.

Heat a pan and grease lightly, put chapathi and half cook, pour egg mixture on the chapathi and fry it on both the sides. On this time egg cooked well with chapathi.

Remove the prepared egg chapathi from heat, Place 1 - 2 Tbsp of the veg stuffing on center. Add thinly sliced onion over it.

Fold the chapathi tightly and transfer the dish to a plate. Repeat the same for all chapathis. Serve for breakfast or lunch in school or office.
