Green Chilli Chutney recipe:

Green Chilli Chutney is a healthy choice instead of eating ketchup or other sauce as it does not include any artificial condiments. The chutney is prepared in most natural way and does not require any vast preparations. It’s a completely no gas recipe and your children can also make it.

Indian chutneys are prepared using various food ingredients. Green chutneys are one of the most common option you can find in all Indian cuisines.

In south Indian cuisines green chutney accompanies with every food preparations. Green chutney is also called as Pachimirapakaya pachadi, Green chilli chutney with coconut, pachai milagai chutney. It is served with idly, dosa, panniyaram, rice, onion dosa, dal dosa etc and is very quick and easy recipe. The recipe takes hardly 10 minutes to prepare this chutney and 5 minutes to cook. It is popular side dish in India. The recipe offers two servings. The recipe is so easy that even bachelors can prepare it. The major ingredient of this chutney is green chilly. All ingredients of this chutney are easily available in market.

Ingredients

  • Green Chilli - 6 no's
  • Salt - according to your taste
  • Fresh Coconut grated - 1/4 cup
  • Tamarind pulp - a small piece
  • Jaggery - a small piece

Method

Step 1

Remove the stems of green chilli and wash it with water. Give small slit over the green chilli.

Fry the green chilli in oil until it wilt. Approximately it take 5-6 minutes. Carefully fry, because green chilli start pop.

Cool the green chilli and add it to the mixer grinder.

Grind it into coarse paste. No need to add water in this stage.

Add 1/4 cup of grated Coconut, pinch of tamarind, salt and a piece of jaggery. Jaggery is add for giving sweet touch to the spicy chutney.

Grind all the ingredients into fine paste with addition of some water.

Transfer chutney to serving bowl. Taste and hot spicy green chutney is ready to taste. Use it as dip or side dish. Enjoy with spicy touch.
