Matar paneer bhurji:

Matar paneer bhurji is one of the most common North Indian recipe which is very delicious and easy to cook. Paneer or cottage cheese is the main ingredient of the recipe and matar adds the taste and enrich the flavor too. Cooking process is not at all difficult and there is minimal preparation required to get the recipe done.

As paneer is the prime ingredient of the recipe, the dish will provide you calcium. Paneer is also a very good source of vitamin B which can be very good for your bone health and enhance your growth. High proportions of vitamin B also helps body in absorbing the calcium and distribute it properly. This makes paneer a very good ingredient to have for small children’s, elders and for pregnant women’s. Along with calcium, paneer is also very good source of protein which can be very good for the health of your body. There almost contain  18% of protein in paneer which is one of the highest proportion. This is especially very good for vegetarians as it helps in building muscles. Protein is also very important to keep organs healthy.

Many don’t know that paneer is good for diabetes. Paneer has small proportion of carbohydrates and high content of protein which makes it a very safe dish for people who have diabetes. The energy released from paneer is done very slowly and you will not experience any major spike in the blood sugar.

Spices used in the recipe includes Garam masala, Red chili powder, Turmeric powder which are easily available and can be found in every kitchen. Also, Matar paneer bhurji is a perfect recipe for bachelor recipe as it is very easy to cook and can provide you with much needed nutrition. Also one can have this bhurji with parathas, chapatti, bread toast.

Ingredients

  • Paneer/ cottage cheese - 1 Cup
  • Greenpeas - 1/2 Cup
  • Chopped Capsicum - 1 Cup
  • Chopped Onion - 1 Cup
  • Finely chopped Greenchili - 1 Tbsp
  • Chopped Tomato - 1/2 Cup
  • Red chili powder - 1 Tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tbsp
  • Corianderpowder - 1 Tbsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2 Tbsp
  • Salt as needed

Method

Step 1

Chop all the veggies needed to make matar paneer bhurji. (Remove the seeds of capsicum and then chop)

Chop and crumble the paneer into small pieces.

Keep a frying kadai on flame, Heat 2 spoon oil, add chopped onion, saute it, when onion start to change its colour add green chilly and capsicum. Stir it well & cook it for 10 mins.

Add green peas(matar) to the onion and capsicum sauted mixture.

Now add finely chopped ripped tomato. Cook till tomato are get soft.

Tomato get mushy, then add salt, red chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder & cumin powder. Stir it well & cook it for 5 mins. If it too dry means springle some water.

When all veggie almost cooked, Now time to add crumbled or small pieces of paneer to this.

After addtion of paneer, cook only for 2-3 minutes. Over cooking make the Paneer too hard. Paneer bhurji is ready to eat. You can serve spicy paneer dry bhurji with chapati & roti.
