The Spicy and Rustic flavours of Punjabi cuisine has made it a phenomenon all over India. Prawn Masala is a Punjabi Recipe. This recipe is famous all over the country for its rich taste. Prawn Masala is known by other names like Batter Fried Jumbo Prawns Masala Gravy, Golden Fried Prawns etc.
Cooking Prawn recipes requires moderate level cooking skills. It is generally served as Main Course for lunch or dinner. Also it is served as Side Dish. It is mainly taken along with Steamed Rice, Naan, Roti, Chappati, etc. This recipe is mainly prepared for special occasions and celebrations.
The main ingredient of Prawn Masala is Prawn. Prawns are good for health. These are good source of Protein. Prawns have very less fat making them a very light diet. These are also good source of minerals. The other ingredients used in recipe are Onion, Capsicum, Egg etc. These ingredients improve the overall nutritional value of the Recipe. As well as it enhances the flavour to a whole new level. We should have proper care while consuming Prawns as it sometimes cause allergy to specific individuals.

- Jumbo Prawn - 1/2 Kg
- Onion - 2 nos.
- Capsicum - 1/2 nos.
- Garlic - 6 nos.
- Green Chili - 3 nos.
- Cornflour - 2 Tbsp
- Egg - 1 no.
- Tomato Sauce - 1 Tbsp
- Salt - 1/2 Tbsp
- Oil as required
- Water - 1/2 cup
Wash and clean the jumbo prawns and remove the head, tail and devein the same. Then wash it under running water.
Add 2 tbsp of cornflour, salt as required and 1 egg to the prawn and mix it well.
Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry prawns till they turn to golden brown in colour on both sides.
Then drain the excess oil and then put them aside in a plate.
Then chop onion, capsicum and garlic into large pieces and slit the green chili.
Heat oil in a kadai and add onion, sprinkle some salt and green chili and fry them till the onion softens.
Add capsicum and garlic, fry them along with the onion and cook the same for 4-5 minutes till all the vegetables are softened.
Once the above mixture is fried well add tomato sauce. Preferably tomato chili sauce to make it more hot and spicy, cook for a minute till the sauce turns brownish in colour.
Add fried prawn to the mixture and blend it well. Then cook for 1-2 minutes.
Add half cup of water to the prawn and cook for sometime untill all the water is drained off. Now, the Prawn Manchurian Masala is ready to serve.
