This preparation goes by many names like Urulaikilangu Bajji, Aloo Pakora, Aloo Bajji, Urulaikilangu Bonda, Aloo Bonda, Batta Vada, Batta Bonda, Spicy potato bonda, etc.
Preparing Bonda is also easy, taking only 30 minutes of time. So, this recipe makes excellent Tiffin or time pass snack. In addition, Bonda is also very delicious and healthy snack. So, all deep fried snacks go very well with Sauces. Also, Potato Bonda being a deep fried snack goes well with Coriander mint chutney and Tomato Sauce. Hence, one can argue that Potato bonda is half the preparation and sauces complete this preparation. Hot Potato Bonda is hot favorite among kids and adults.

- Gram Flour - 2 Cup
- Chopped Onion - 1 Cup
- Mashed Potato - 4 nos
- Garam Masala powder - 1/2 Tbsp
- Salt as needed
- Oil for deep fry
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp
- Red Chilly Powder - 1 Tbsp
- Green Chili - 1 no
- Curry leaves - 1 Sprig
- Coriander leaves - Few
Take two cup of gram flour, ½ tbsp red chili powder, salt. Add water mix it into smooth loose paste.
Ready ingredients for potato mixture, chop the onions, green chilli, curry leaves.
Boil the potatoes, peel the skin and mash well. Add chopped onion, green chili, curry leaves, red chili powder, garam masala powder and Salt. Mix well.
Make the mashed potato into small sized balls use vet fingers.
Dip the potato ball in gram flour mix. Potato ball should be fully coated in the flour mix. Deep fry the potato ball in the oil. Fry it on both sides till it turns to golden colour.
Drain excess oil from potato bajji. Serve hot bonda with the chutneys or sauce.
