Ragi java | Ragi malt or ragi porridge recipe:

Ragi malt is a health drink that is a form of porridge. That can be consumed as either a sweet drink or with salt which is good for both children and adults alike. Ingredients

  • Ragi flour - 1/2 Cup
  • Jaggery - 1/4 Cup
  • Water - 2 Cup
  • Milk - 1/2 Cup
  • Ghee - 1 Tbsp
  • Raisins as desired
  • Cardamom powder - A pinch

Method

Step 1

For ragi malt preparation we need ragi powder, make it in home or bought from shop. To make ragi powder at home, take 1 cup of ragi, wash it clean with water, shade dry then grind it into a fine powder.

Mix water with required amount of ragi powder. Stir it well in order to avoid forming the lumps.

Boil a cup of water in a vessel.

Once the water attain boiling contention, add jaggery powder and mix well continuously till it dissolves well.

After dissolving the jaggery, add prepared ragi flour mix.

Add a pinch of baking powder (optional) to enrich the taste.

Pour milk to the porridge and bring it to boil for couple of minutes.

Add raisins. You may ghee fry the raisins before added to the recipe.

Add a pinch of cardamom, stir well to boil.
