Ripe banana fry with coconut recipe:

Banana fry is an Indian recipe and is most widely used in Kerala cuisine. Banana fry serves as a dessert and it is a healthy recipe. Mostly everyone uses it  during festival seasons such as Ramzan . For preparing banana recipe no special skills is required even a beginner can prepare this healthy snack easily and quickly within 30 minutes.

everyone considers banana as a healthy fruit all over the world. But some people uses it as a vegetable in South India for making banana bajji, chips, curry, kofta, stir fry, roast etc. It has rich source of proteins, calcium, iron and vitamins.

Banana fry is also referred to as Aethapazham fry, Nenthranpazham fry, Roasted banana, Ethakka Vazhattiyathu, Fried banana with ghee, Banana fry with coconut, Pazham Fry and Ifthar sweet. This recipe gives you a good combination of health and taste. It is absolutely delicious but very crispy.

In order to make a fried banana we don’t need any special ingredients and we can easily and quickly prepare a delicious mildly hot and taste recipe using normal ingredients in home such as banana, coconut, sugar and ghee. This healthy taste sweet snack is best accompanied with chappatis, bread.

In raw banana, you can make crispy vazhakkai fry recipe is a traditional recipe from Tamil cuisine and very popular one too. This recipe does not require much oil at all. Even with very less oil you can make this crispy raw banana fry. Make sure to cook in lowest flame and stir occasionally till golden and crispy, so tasty and addictive.

You can also make a try of Banana fritter, Banana appam, Egg less cake, Banana muffins, Banana pooris and Banana pancake.

Ingredients

  • Ripe Banana - 3 nos.
  • Coconut - 1/2 Cup
  • Cashew nut - 4-5 Nos.
  • Raisins - 4 - 5 nos.
  • Sugar - 3 Tbsp
  • Ghee - 2 Tbsp
  • Cardamom powder - A pinch

Method

Step 1

Remove the skin of banana and then cut it to very small pieces. All pieces should be almost in same shape and size.

Melt ghee in a pan, fry roughly chopped cashew nuts and raisins. Then add scraped coconut and stir for few minutes. It turn little golden to brown. In that time add sugar.

Sugar starts caramelized. Add the sliced pieces of banana to it and stir well.

Let it become nicely fried. Keep in low flame and let it gets blend well.

Add ghee if needed. When our banana, nuts and coconut gets nicely fried, off the flame and Serve banana fry hot or cold.
