Today diet has become one of the most important parts of everyone’s routine. But even those who are on diet love to indulge with their favourite meal once in a while. Shahi Chicken Biryani is their favourite meal when it comes to getting their favourite fantasy.
Chicken is one of the most important non vegetarian dish which can ensure that you get the required source of protein. This is also called as lean meat which means that you get more amount of protein and lesser quantity of fats. On an average a normal 100 gram of protein will provide you with about 31 grams of protein which can be perfect for you in normal day to day activity. The protein which is acquired from the chicken and is helpful in repairing muscles. Along with proteins, chicken is also very good source of minerals, calcium and phosphorus which can be very good in keeping your bones in very good condition. Also chicken is very good source of selenium which can be very effective in cutting down the risk of arthritis.
There are two ingredients in chicken which can be very good in reducing stress, they are Vitamin B5 and tryptophan. Both ingredients have a very calming effect on the body and makes chicken a very good option to consider when you are having a stressful day. Great taste of Shahi kadai chicken biryani also acts as a very good stress reliever and can make the person happy and satisfied.
Shahi kadai biryani is a very royal dish and contains a heavy proportion of ghee, saffron and other vegetables. This makes it a perfect dish to have on special occasions. The richness of the Meat masala in biryani can make anyone fall in love with this recipe.
- Chicken - 1/2 Kg
- Basmati rice - 2 Cup
- Onion - 1 1/2 Cup
- Yogurt - 5 Tbsp
- Salt - According to taste
- Meat masala (garam masala) - 2 Tbsp
- Ginger paste - 1 Tbsp
- Garlic - 1 Tbsp
- Saffron - 2 pinch
- Lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- Vanilla Essence - 1 Tbsp
- Shahjeera - 2 Tbsp
- Bay leaf - 2 No.
- Ghee - 2 Tbsp
- Coriander leaves - A fistful
- Water - 4 cups
- Milk - 3 Tbsp
Wash the chicken and Marinated with yogurt, 1 tbsp of salt, meat masala, add ginger, garlic paste. Mix it very well. Keep it in refrigerator for 4 to 5 hours.
In a cooker add a tbsp of ghee, seasoned with bay leaf and Shahjeera. Add water and lemon juice with washed basmati rice. Half cook the rice, do not cook fluffy.
Deep Fry the sliced onion in oil till it turn to golden colour. it give delicious taste to the biryani.
Keep the fried onion aside. Mix pinch of saffron with hot milk.
Fry the marinated chicken in the frying pan with oil. You can use remaining oil that used for onion fry. Stir in between and cook the chicken until it get soft. Approximately it take 10-13 minutes. Taste and adjust salt content.
In a thick bottom kadai, spread a spoon of ghee then add half the quantity of the cooked chicken, over that chicken layer add half cooked basmati rice.
On the top add fried onion and saffron milk mixture. With this same procedure make alternate layers of chicken gravy and rice.
Finally add vanilla essence. Tightly close the kadai and cook it for another 5 minutes. While serving, mix the biryani from the bottom to top. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve shahi kadai chicken biryani hot with salads.This biryani preparation is time taking process but taste is very good.i hope you will like this biryani.
