Veg Sandwich Recipe

Who wouldn’t like a quick bite of  veg sandwich recipe as a snack or during the early morning hasty hours on their way to school or work. The simple and fast preparation within minutes make the sandwich a widely sought after option for breakfast. Not to mention its high value in nutrition with all the ingredients in between the bread slices.

Preparation Methods

The simple version of the veg sandwich can be started with vegetables like potato, onion, cucumber, tomato, corn, capsicum. The potatoes are first cooking in a pressure cooker and then mashed along with pepper, chilli powder and coriander leaves. The quantities of the above ingredients depends on one’s taste and preference. Sliced onion, tomato and cucumber can be directly placed on the bread slice. Bread was coating with butter and  mashed potato was spreading over it. The inner part of the bread slice can be coating with tomato sauce or molten cheese or green chutney. This chutney is made from mint and coriander and is a famous ingredient of the chat dishes.

Once the vegetables are placing in between two slices of bread, then can be grilling in a toaster or even simpler, in a pan. Ghee or butter could be using when toasting the bread on a pan. Mayonnaise is another ingredient that could be using in sandwiches. Chat masala is another ingredient which gives an enigmatic flavor to the sandwich. It can be adding to the vegetable mixing in between the bread.

Whole wheat bread and brown bread are some of the healthy options to make sandwiches with. Mutli grain bread is also available which is another operable option. There are a whole lot of other varieties of sandwiches. Egg sandwiches, be it boiled or fried, chicken grilled sandwich, mushroom sandwich, mutton kheema sandwich are a few to be named.

This is my first try out and it was awesome my hubby became a fan of this toast . He loves street food and it’s a famous street food in bombay .

Ingredients

  • Bread - 8 Nos.
  • Potato - 2 Nos.
  • Cucumber - 1 No.
  • Onion - 1 No.
  • Chat Masala - 2 Tbsp
  • Pepper - 1/4 Tbsp
  • Salt - 1/4 Tbsp
  • Coriander Leaves - 1/2 Cup
  • Green Chilly - 4 Nos.
  • Butter - 2 Tbsp

Method

Step 1

At the first step take a pressure cooker and put potato along with some salt to it .Then let it cooked well.

It will take about three to four visils to get cooked , when it's done off the flame and let it cool .Then slice cucumber to small slices.

Then slice the other vegetables of your choice , I used only cucumber and onion then.pour some chat masala , salt and pepper powder.

Mix it well , then take a blender and put coriander leaves , green chillies, chat masala and salt to it .

Then grind it like a smooth paste and pour little lemon juice to it , mix it and then take two bread slides and spread the green chutney on it .

Then place some of the sliced cucumber and onion to one side of bread slice and place little butter on it .

Then place the other bread on the bread with vegetables and press it then keep it on the toaster. Do same with the remaining vegetables and bread .

Then toast it one by one until it reaches the time . Then serve it hot along with some tomato sauce.
